We are so excited to finally launch something we have been working on since we came up with the idea of ORII - introducing: gesture control! You can now use quick gestures like double-tapping to control your smart devices, making it even more convenient, discreet, and accurate.

Starting now, all existing and new ORII users can update their rings to unlock this new feature. Make sure the latest version of the ORII app is downloaded from the Apple or Google Play store. A firmware update is available on the home page of the app. Simply click on “update firmware” and then switch gestures on under settings. Sensitivity can be adjusted as needed.

From thousands of possibilities, we narrowed down the gestures to those that are intuitive but would also not interfere with everyday functions. Then we selected only the functions that matter focusing on simplifying everyday life and making technology less intrusive.

The list of gestures we have preset goes:

ORII with phone only

Double-tap pointing up: ORII triggers voice assistant (Siri or Google Assistant)

Double-tap flat: ORII reads out incoming messages

ORII with headsets connected*

Double-tap pointing down: ORII skips a current music track Double-tap pointing to left: ORII plays/pauses current music track

The list doesn’t stop there! We are working on some new and exciting updates to help you do more with gestures. Coming soon, you will be able to attach custom functions to gestures to further simplify your lives, both in and out of home, the way you want to.
